When London brewer Fuller Smith & Turner embarked on a restoration programme for its public houses within the capital, it searched the length and breadth of the UK for appropriate tiles to refurbish its classic teapot brown and leaf green exteriors, but could only find unsuitable porous tiles in similar colours. We were able to manufacture frostproof teapot brown and Victorian leaf green tiles specifically for the project, ensuring that the mixture of clay and the fluxes involved in the firing resulted in a vitrified tile with a porosity of less than 3 percent.
